PPU (Prvi Partizan Uzice) 6.8 Special Purpose Cartridge was originally designed for the U.S. Armed Forces as an alternative to the 5.56, offering more range and power. When the military did not adopt the cartridge, the firearms community did. Hunters and marksman across the country enjoy the power and accuracy of this capable round. Hollow Point Boat Tail bullets allow for immediate energy dispersion on contact with the target, as well as accuracy at longer ranges. PPU, or Prvi Partizan, is a Serbian brand, making hunting and competition loads for civilians since 1928. In 1947 they became a state-run operation, allowing for huge overhaul of quality control, components and materials, and eventually the construction of modern manufacturing facilities in the 70’s.
